How do I reset my AI task quota? +

AI task quotas automatically reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. You don't need to do anything manually. If you need more tasks before the reset, consider upgrading to a higher subscription tier (BASIC or PREMIUM).

Can I use POP Remote without a subscription? +

Yes! The FREE tier includes unlimited RDP and VNC connections with all protocol features. You also get 2 AI tasks per week. Subscriptions are only required if you need more AI automation tasks or voice control features.

Why can't I connect to my computer? +

Common connection issues:

  • Verify your computer's IP address or hostname is correct
  • Check that Remote Desktop or VNC server is enabled on your computer
  • Ensure both devices are on the same network (or configure port forwarding for external access)
  • Check firewall settings on both devices
  • For RDP: Ensure you're using Windows Pro/Enterprise (Home doesn't support RDP server)

Is my data secure? +

Yes. We take security seriously:

  • All connections use TLS/SSL encryption
  • Connection credentials are stored locally on your device using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences
  • We do not have access to your remote desktop sessions
  • AI screenshots are processed in real-time and not permanently stored

How do I cancel my subscription? +

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
  3. Select "POP Remote"
  4. Tap "Cancel subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again after cancellation.

What's the difference between RDP and VNC? +

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol):

  • Designed by Microsoft for Windows
  • Better performance and compression
  • Supports audio, clipboard, file transfer
  • Best for Windows computers

VNC (Virtual Network Computing):

  • Cross-platform standard
  • Works with Linux, macOS, Unix, Windows
  • Simpler protocol, more universal
  • Best for non-Windows systems
Can I use voice control on the FREE tier? +

No, voice control features are exclusive to the PREMIUM subscription tier. PREMIUM includes 10 voice tasks per week, along with speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities.

Does POP Remote work over the internet? +

Yes! You can connect to your computers over the internet using:

  • RDP Gateway: Configure an RDP Gateway for secure remote access
  • Port Forwarding: Forward RDP (3389) or VNC (5900+) ports on your router
  • VPN: Use a VPN to access your home/office network remotely
  • Dynamic DNS: Use a DDNS service if you don't have a static IP

Security Tip: Always use strong passwords and enable TLS/SSL encryption for internet connections.

When will iOS version be available? +

An iOS version of POP Remote is currently in development. We don't have an exact release date yet, but we're working hard to bring POP Remote to iPhone and iPad users. Join our mailing list or follow us on social media for updates!

How accurate is the AI automation? +

AI automation powered by Azure OpenAI's Computer Use Automation (CUA) is generally very accurate for common tasks. However:

  • Complex multi-step tasks may require breaking into smaller steps
  • UI elements must be clearly visible on screen
  • Specific, detailed instructions produce better results
  • Always review AI actions before execution

AI accuracy improves with clear task descriptions and stable UI elements.
